Espaliered Fruit Trees
Matt is very excited as the espaliered apricot tree in his garden (variety ‘Tomcot’, pictured above) is currently covered in blossom. Last year with not much blossom (but an exceptional summer) it yielded seven very tasty apricots. He’s hoping for big things this year!
To espalier a fruit tree you just need to run wires in horizontal lines along the wall where the tree is growing and then tie the branches to the wires as they grow.
