This garden high up in the exquisite Cotswold countryside, was designed to encompass the breath-taking panorama. The downside to the location was that the garden was steeply sloping. This posed a big design challenge. The owners wanted to breathe new life into existing derelict features in the garden, such as an old pigsty. They also wanted options for seating and dining within the garden.
- Make the most of the view
- Flexible seating and dining areas
- Rejuvenate existing structures
- Find a solution to the tricky slope
Framing the view
The newly terraced garden offered two separate seating areas, with sun-loungers for soaking up the sun and a curved sofa for relaxing. The old pigsty was transformed into a covered dining area, perfect for quiet summer evenings or entertaining. The luscious planting of mixed perennials and grasses creates a naturalistic feel and compliments the view to full advantage. This garden was designed on behalf of Isola Garden Design and was a finalist in the 2015 Northern Design Awards.
